What does watercress dream about?

Following his conquest of Congo in the late nineteenth century, King Leopold II envisioned constructing a railway connecting the Royal Palace in Brussels and a neighbouring station. The project was never completed. However, construction work uncovered a water source, transforming the site into a swamp. The purity of this spring water generated perfect conditions for establishing a watercress farm, which continues to operate today.
But what does watercress which grows in such an environment dream about?
In October 2023, Pierre Rubio asked Christina Stadlbauer and Roger Fähndrich to imagine responses to this critical question through a multi-layered performative exploration of the entanglements of geology, biology, chemistry, history, urban agriculture and negative affects.
